Hackers infiltrate Orlando hotel chain

An Orlando-based hotel chain is warning its guests that their personal information may have been breached.

Rosen Hotels & Resorts, which operates seven hotels in the Orlando area, said it recently uncovered malicious software on its payment card network. The malware may have scooped up the names and payment card details — including the card number, expiration date and internal verification code on the magnetic strip — of customers going back to September 2014, the company said.

In a statement, Rosen said it is still trying to identify which customers may have been affected.

“Together with our cyber security firm, we have worked tirelessly to contain and address the incident,” said Frank Santos, the company’s chief financial officer. “Additionally, enhanced security measures have been implemented to help prevent this from happening again.” For the full article click here
