Sensitive to criticism that this supposedly national column is way too Sydney-focused, we set off to Melbourne for the weekend and went to a party at Julian Assange‘s former Carlton residence.
Who knew there was a sauna on the top level of the former WikiLeaks terrace? It’s now used as a cupboard.
There were also doors to nowhere, views of the University of Melbourne (where Assange was a mature-age student) and a great line up of DJs – although the last bit may not have been around in the WikiLeaks era.
And on the fridge, a letter from the Victorian Department of Justice and Regulation addressed to “JULIAN ASSANGE, WIKILEAKS ICT INC.”
Of course Assange didn’t even get his mail redirected to the Ecuador Embassy in London. The slacker.
