Hackers aligned with Islamic State target Arkansas database

LITTLE ROCK — Hackers accessed an Arkansas Library Association database and posted the names, addresses, email addresses and phone numbers of 800 Arkansas library workers to a website that supports the militant group known as the Islamic State, Newsweek said in a report published Monday.

The site encourages supporters of the Islamic State to target the named individuals from the Arkansas database and others, the magazine reported. The hackers apparently have been targeting websites with weak security, according to the report.

Newsweek said the FBI notified the association of the release of the information but apparently was not contacting the library workers individually. For the full article click here
