Hackers thwart online efforts to trap jihadists

Teams of hackers who are taking down online jihadist accounts may be harming counter-terrorism efforts, one of Europe’s most senior law enforcement chiefs has warned.

Rob Wainwright, the director of Europol, told The Times that the hackers, who are disabling thousands of pro-Islamic State accounts, may be thwarting the work of police and intelligence agencies.
