Hackers could hijack Wi Fi Barbie to criminal on your own kids

Chicago reports that the dialogue saved in the cloud can later be accessed through a smartphone to communicate with the people it is interacting with. “What’s worse, it’s possible to link the children to their parents, exposing the kids’ full identities and where they live, according to an expert who reviewed the breach for Motherboard”, Lorenzo Franceschi-Bicchierai wrote. In March, Angela Campbell, faculty adviser at Georgetown University’s Center on Privacy and Technology, told the Washington Post, “If I had a young child, I would be very concerned that my child’s intimate conversations with her doll were being recorded and analyzed” The point is that nobody is sure what children will say to the doll. In November, the CCFC launched a campaign called “Hell no Barbie”, in an effort to educate parents about the concerns surrounding the doll. Besides raising privacy concerns, the CCFC contests that the doll undermines children’s creative play and wrongfully takes the place of a genuine listener to children’s conversations. “Any parent allowing their child’s conversations with Hello Barbie to be recorded and shared with ToyTalk is apparently offering up sensitive information about their child to an experiment in the development of artificial-intelligence toys, with the likelihood that the information will end up in the hands of countless unknown parties”.
