Hackers attack election campaign of US presidential candidate Hilary Clinton

Reports of hackers breaching the security of tech companies and government organizations are not new. But when the attack is on the campaign of the presidential candidate of the world’s oldest democracy, you know how grim the state of cyber-security is.

According to a report in the Reuters, hackers attacked the campaign of Hilary Clinton who recently became the first woman presidential candidate of the US. The attack was a part of a larger attack on Democratic political organizations. The spokesperson of Clinton’s campaign, Nick Merrill confirmed the report in a statement,

An analytics data program maintained by the DNC, and used by our campaign and a number of other entities, was accessed as part of the DNC hack. Our campaign computer system has been under review by outside security experts. To date, they have found no evidence that our internal systems have been compromised.

Notably, hackers recently also breached the security of Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee(DCCC). At that time, more than 19,000 emails from DNC officials got online on WikiLeaks. And that was just prior to the Democratic National Convention. For the full article click here
