Two thirds of Surrey residents are at risk from hackers

More than two thirds of residents in Surrey and the surrounding area could be leaving themselves open to hackers because their computer and phone security are not up to date.

New figures from Ipsos Mori show 68 per cent of residents in the South East do not download the latest software updates for their mobile phone and 64 per cent do not download updates for their computer.

Software and app update contain security upgrades which protect the device from viruses and hackers. According to CESG, the GCHQ’s cyber security arm, downloading updates promptly is the most important action people can take to protect themselves from cybercrime. For the full article click here
